The campaign for the July 12, 2025 Local Government elections across Lagos State, was officially kicked off in Imota Local Council Development Area at the weekend, with the Chairmanship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the council, Hon. Sunday Benson Ayodele, emphasising unity in mobilising support for a massive win.
He made the call for unity among members at the inauguration of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) by APC in Imota LCDA, for the elections at the weekend.
The committee, comprising chieftains and dedicated members of the party, also included youth representatives, media professionals, women representatives among others.

The committee, led by the former member, Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ikorodu Constituency II, Hon. Nurudeen Solaja, and the current Chairman, Imota LCDA, Hon. Wasiu Agoro as the Co – Director – General, is saddled with coordination of strategic engagements, grassroots mobilization, media visibility and voters’ education in support of the APC Chairmanship candidate, Hon. Benson and his running mate, Princess Abisoye Omowunmi Jimoh, as well as the party’s councilorship candidates.
At the event, the party flags were also presented to the party’s flag bearers.

The addressing the gathering, the Chairmanship candidate emphasized the importance of unity in mobilizing support within the various wards in lmota LCDA, to ensure a significant victory for APC in the council.
He also called on the party members to pull together their collective strength which he said is essential to secure massive votes for all the candidates of the party in lmota.
Hon. Benson also commended party leaders, and other stakeholders, including LGA executives, Ward executives, zonal chairmen, and representatives from the Market Men and Women Association, as well as the youths, for attending this event.

“As the Chairmanship candidate and the APC flag bearer, I assure the leadership of our great party and our dedicated supporters that, with their unwavering support, we will emerge victorious at the polls”.
The event was attended by party stakeholders, leaders, ward chairmen, and members of the newly constituted committee, including Rev. (Dr.) Col. B.T. Onafowokan (Rtd), Hon. Ramoni Akinyemi, Hon. Femi Okedeyi, Elder Kayode Bada, Hon. Okedeyi A. Sule, Hon. Munirat Yisa, Hon. Kamilu Ogunnowo, Hon. Dotun Egberongbe, Hon. (Prince) Babatunde, Hon. (Engr) Mojeed Banjo, Hon. (Dr) Jimi Adejo, Hon. Bili Iyanda, Hon. Muniru Banjo, Alhaji Adesanya Adedayo, Hon. B.G. Tairu, Hon. Akinsanya Gbenga, Hon. Muhammed Fagbesan, Hon. Ayo Abass, Hon. Morayo Solarin-Akinyemi, Hon.
